Earthquake Will Continue To Be Part of Ghana; Adopt Preventive Measures - Nana Ofori Owusu

An earth tremor was recorded in some parts of the capital, Accra, over the weekend.

Residents at Gbawe, Sowutuom, Old Kasoa Barrier, New Bortianor, Awoshie, Abelemkpe and McCarthy Hill have reported about experiencing an earth tremor.

It could also be recalled that a similar incident was said to have occurred at Weija and Gbawe last year.

These earth tremors have raised serious concerns.

Addressing the issue on Peace FM's 'Kokrokoo' programme, National Chairman Aspirant of the Progressive People's Party (PPP), Nana Ofori Owusu is calling on the appropriate authorities to utilize the technological opportunities to prevent any future earth tremors or quakes.

According to him, it is about time the authorities sat up to devise ways to use the right technology that will help detect earthquake prone areas and find lasting solutions to it.

Speaking to host Kwami Sefa Kayi, Nana Ofori Owusu held strongly that "earthquake will continue to be a part of this country, of the world because it’s something that God has set into motion. So, we can’t stop those things but how you deal with it" but believed "He (God) has given us the mind and the technology to deal with it".
