It'll Be Dangerous To Limit Vigilante Talk To Only NPP And NDC - PNC Chair

National Chairman of the People’s National Convention (PNC), Bernard Mornah says it will be disastrous for President Akufo-Addo to reduce the focus on the fight against vigilantism to only the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the main opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).

According to him, other political parties including the PNC has backed down on their earlier deliberate decision not to keep vigilante groups with the reason that his Ashanti Regional Chairman and the executives say they will not allow any other people to come and disturb them.

Speaking on Okay FM’s 'Ade Akye Abia' Morning Show, he warned the government not to take things for granted as things are clearly indicating that politicians in Accra continue to pontificate peaceful nature, but those in the other regions are not taking the issue easily.

“I was personally terrified when I saw the kind of people my Regional Chairman came with at the Airport to welcome me. Their height and their body physique should tell you clearly that we should not take things for granted and this is clearly an indication that while in Accra we continue to pontificate our peaceful nature, those in the other regions are not taking the issue easily like that," he indicated.

He reiterated that if care is not taken, NPP and NDC will be the ones talking but others will act in response, taking their own strategy in quiet and on the low to organise their own vigilante groups.

“These are things occurring in the regions and others want to act in response, if care is not taken, the NDC and the NPP will be the ones talking but others will also take their own strategy to be on the quiet and on the low to organise their own so that they will not be taken by surprise,” he warned.
