Akufo-Addo And His Govt Should Show Remorse For Misleading Ghanaians; Reality Has Dawned On Them-NDC MP

President Akufo-Addo and his government have been asked by the Member of Parliament for Bia East Constituency to show remorse for misleading Ghanaians into believing that they have the magic to make the economy of the country better than they met it overnight.

According to him, the ruling New Patriotic Party government led by President Akufo-Addo should apologise to Ghanaians for not getting their numbers right, admitting that they saw things differently in opposition as the reality has dawned on them now in government.

Speaking on Okay FM’s Ade Akye Abia Morning Show, Hon. Richard Acheampong insisted that the governing NPP should come out to admit that they got it wrong criticizing the Mahama led government over the performance of the economy.

He reiterated that Ghanaians will forgive the NPP and work together to better the economy if they confess that they thought wrong with the conviction that they have the magic hands to turn things around but later found out that it is not rosy managing the economy.

“If NPP will show remorse to tell Ghanaians that they are sorry for not getting their numbers right, and that they saw things differently in opposition but now the reality has dawned on them  and for that matter Ghanaians should forgive them and help to save the economy together, they will be forgiven”, he stated.

He added that the NPP should tell Ghanaians to “credit the NDC to have performed well for the economy and they are also coming to continue from where the NDC left off.

He asked President Akufo-Addo to emulate the good example of former President Kufuor when he admitted and apologised that he was wrong to have criticized the size of former President Rawlings’ government as well as corruption after he had appointed more ministers during his reign and stating that corruption started from Adam.

“When you show remorse for your wrong doing, you gain sympathy from the people but if you still pretend as if you are wiser and have superior knowledge than everybody, you can never get that sympathy you deserve”, he advised.
