Delegation of Otumfuo Osei Tutu II Calls On Speaker of Parliament

An 8-Member delegation of the Asantehe Otumfuo Osei Tutu II led by Nana Krobea Asante Asokoremanhene, today called on the Speaker of Parliament Rt Hon Prof Michael Aaron Oquaye.

The delegation extended invitation to the Speaker and Members of Parkiament on behalf of the Asantehene to attend the grand durbar on 21st April 2019 to climax activities for the celebration of the 20th anniversary of Otumfuo Osei Tutu II as Asantehene.

Nana Nsuase Poku Agyeman, Otumfuo Akyeamehene said Otumfuo Osei Tutu II since his ascension to the Golden Stool, has made huge contribution to Asanteman and the country generally by ensuring peace, resolving chieftaincy and land disputes and promoting development in Asanteman in diverse ways such as promotion of education.

He said the Asanteman Council therefore feels proud and happy to line up activities for the celebration of the 20th anniversary of Otumfuo Osei Tutu II .

The Speaker of Parliament Rt Hon Prof Michael Aaron Oquaye expressed joy over the visit of the delegation and asked the Majority Leader and Minister of Parliamentary Affairs, Hon Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu who is also the Sunkwahene to speak on behalf of the Speaker and Parliament.

The Majority Leader Hon Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu thanked Otumfuo Osei Tutu II and Asanteman Council for the honor done to Parliament by extending the invitation to the House to attend the 20th anniversary celebration of the Otumfuo.

He also commended Otumfuo Osei Tutu II for his great service to Asanteman, Ghana and Africa.
