Make Public The 'Ebony Committee Report' - Kabila Advocates

A member of the Convention People’s Party (CPP) James Kwabena Bonfeh, popularly known as ‘Kabila’ has urged that the 'Ebony Committee Report’ be made public for all to see its content.

The ‘Ebony Committee Report’ contains the cause of the accident that led to the death of musician Priscilla Opoku-Kwarteng, popularly known as ‘Ebony Reigns’.

The report was put together by the inter-ministerial committee made up of the Minister for Interior together with the Minister of Roads and Highways as well as the Minister of Transport.

Following the death of almost 90 persons in two separate accidents last week, several people have called on the government to make public the report and for implementation to be done.

Adding his voice to this during a panel discussion on Monday’s edition of ‘kokrokoo’, Kabila says the report will perhaps help chart a way forward when it comes to dealing with recklessness on our roads.

Speaking on the accident in general, he said, “it’s sad” that even after several campaigns and talks road accidents are still on the ascendancy.

“ . . we’ve spoken at length about road safety . . . all these things don’t speak well of us; the recklessness on the road, behavior of both drivers and passengers, the bad roads; all don’t speak well of us . . . we sit for things to go worst before things are done and it’s not the best. We need to be careful on the road . . . the recklessness is becoming too much,” he indicated.

The era of social media

Kabila also spoke against the situation where people take to their phones to capture a particular incident instead of helping.

"It seems everybody wants to be the first to post it so now instead of helping those injured, they prefer taking a video and the worst is when others try to steal from those involved in the accident . . . but our sympathies go to the families".
