The USA Communications Director of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kofi Tonto has been appointed as Head of Information at the Embassy of Ghana in the United States.

Kofi Tonto shared the good news on his facebook page stated; “Today, I'm happy to inform you that I have been appointed as Head of Information at the Embassy of Ghana in the United States.”

According to him, his appointment is expected to help fix many customer service issues Ghanaians in the US have with the embassy.

He expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the president of Ghana, H. E. Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo Addo, Ghana's Ambassador to the US, H.E. Dr. Barfuor Adjei-Barwuah, Minister of Information, Hon. Kojo Oppong-Nkrumah, and former Minister of Information, Hon. Mustapha Abdul-Hamid, for the confidence reposed in him.

As a first year economics and political science student at the University of Massachusetts, I made a Patriotic decision to commit my time and resources towards the advancement of my dear country, Ghana, in diverse ways. It has been a really tough journey, and at times, lonely.

Fortunately, the hard-work, dedication and commitment towards this noble endeavor have been recognized.

Today, I'm happy to inform you that I have been appointed as Head of Information at the Embassy of Ghana in the United States.

I'm grateful to the President of Ghana, H.E. Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, Ghana's Ambassador to the US, H.E. Dr. Barfuor Adjei-Barwuah, Minister of Information, Hon. Kojo Oppong-Nkrumah, and former Minister of Information, Hon. Mustapha Abdul-Hamid, for the confidence they have reposed in me.

My mandate includes;

•Repositioning the image of the embassy and enhancing engagements to regain the confidence of our clients, especially, the Ghanaian community;

•Actively marketing "brand Ghana" throughout the United States, Mexico, El Salvador, Costa Rica, Belize, Guatemala, Dominican Republic and Honduras to potential economic and social partners/investors;

I pledge to discharge my duties diligently and with the outmost professionalism required.

I am counting on your continuous support, prayers and guidance throughout this promising journey.

Kofi Tonto  previously worked as: Workforce Intelligence Analyst, Senior Data Analyst Analyst, Systems and Reporting Analyst, Executive Director of African Youth Excellence, an advocacy agency that nurtures young Africans in the diaspora.

Kofi also has a background in corporate branding.
