Leaked Tape Saga: Ofosu Ampofo To Appear Before Court Tomorrow

National Chairman of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr. Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo is expected to appear before court tomorrow over his alleged leaked tape.

Deputy Communications Director of the party, Mr. Kwaku Boahen is also expected to appear before the court tomorrow, Tuesday.

The two were previously charged by the Police for conspiracy to commit crime to wit, kidnapping and conspiracy to commit crime to wit, threat of harm.

Speaking on Okay FM's 'Ade Akye Abia' programme, a member of the legal team for Mr. Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo, Lawyer Edudzi Tamakloe explained that the charges against them has however been amended whilst charges against Mr. Sammy Gyamfi, National Communication Officer of the party have been dropped.

The Attorney General's Department have revealed that four fresh charges have been preferred against the National Chairman of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr. Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo and Deputy National Communications Officer, Kwaku Boahen.

The two are facing four charges, three for the National Chairman and one for Kweku Boahen.

During his appearance before the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) last month, Mr. Ofosu-Ampofo was charged with threat of harm, conspiracy to commit harm, rioting and assaulting a Public Officer and granted a bail in a sum of GHc 400,000 with two sureties.

Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo refused to admit or otherwise whether the voice in the infamous leaked tape is his.

"But you see, there are some political hands behind this . . . I can tell you this will amount to nothing," he said.

"I am very optimistic that this case will be thrown out when it lands in court," he added.
