President Akufo-Addo Is Being ‘Lazy’ On The Short Commission Report - Kofi Adams

Former National Organizer of the main opposition National Democratic Congress [NDC], Kofi Adams says the NPP government led by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo must be schooled on good governance.

He was emphatic on NEAT FM’s morning show, dubbed ‘Ghana Montie’ that the incumbent is in “serious” lack of good governance – something he said is “worrying”.

Kofi Adams was responding to the Director of Communications at the presidency, Eugene Arhin’s assertion that President Akufo-Addo cannot be forced to act on the Emile Short Commission's report on vigilantism after the NDC requested for the report to be make public.

Alleged leaked portions of the recommendations of the report have surfaced on social media - among other strong recommendations urged the President to reprimand the Minister of State at the presidency in charge of National Security to also disband the SWAT team of the National Security.

“The Commission recommends that Bryan Acheampong be reprimanded for his ultimate responsibility as Minister in authorising an operation of that character and on a day of an election in a built up area,” the report is alleged to have said.

But, Eugene Arhin said the President is still studying the report and will act within the time granted by the constitution.

His response according Kofi Adams is ‘unstatesmanlike’ – and said President Nana Addo is being ‘lazy’ on the report.
