Christians Must Exemplify The Easter Sacrifice – Rev. Dr. Fayose

The Reverend Dr Cyril Fayose, General Secretary of the Christian Council of Ghana, has urged Christians to exemplify the big sacrifice Jesus Christ made to bring mankind closer to God.

He said as the world marked Easter, an important event on the Christian Calendar, the faithful should be real apostles who would mainstream peace, hard work, humility, forgiveness and sacrifice in their daily lives.

Speaking to the Ghana News Agency in Accra on Good Friday, Rev Fayose reminded Christians of the essence of Easter, which is about “healing wounds and forgiving one another.

“Suffice it to say that Christians, therefore, need not bear grudges against one another but show mercy and love always.”
Rev. Fayose said since Easter is a Christian season celebrated with lots of travelling activities, drivers should also take their time and drive safely and avoid alcohol while driving.”

“The drivers shouldn’t be in a hurry just to make money...it is about taking people to their destination safely to celebrate the occasion.
“We want each and every one of us alive”, Rev Fayose said.

He appealed to the Government to fix all the bad roads to prevent accidents.

He acknowledged that most of the times accidents occurred due to human error and faulty vehicles “but the terrible roads also contribute to the menace.”

Most of Ghana’s major trunk roads needed to be converted into dual carriageways to ease traffic and save lives, Rev. Fayose said.

He said the bad portions of the Accra-Kumasi-Tamale highway, the Aflao through Accra to Half Assini, and the Accra-Ho-Hohoe road, also known as the Eastern Corridor roads, must be repaired to ensure safety.
