Betty Crashes & Burns Again!

She just cant seem to get it right! Clumsy Betty, generally known as Betty Mould Iddrisu, who went to court seeking to convict five soldiers for allegedly murdering Mr. Rokko Frimpong, has finally withdrawn out of the case, because according to her, it was more justifiable to prosecute the initial suspects in the case! Mrs Betty Mould Iddrisu on announced that the state is no longer interested in prosecuting five soldiers who were arrested by the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI) for the murder of the former Deputy Managing Director of the Ghana Commercial Bank. Mr Rokko Frimpong, confirming the initial and widely held belief that the soldiers in custody had been arrested for totally different reasons than what they were being prosecuted for. Indeed, the Daily Searchlight has it on authority that the soldiers initially caught the baleful eyes of Ghanas National Security because they had large sums of monies in their bank accounts. A statement released by the Office of the Attorney General on Friday said the State has decided to issue a Nolle Prosiqui in the case. Though the Attorney General is not obliged to disclose reasons for the Nolle Prosequi the release said the State has taken into consideration the public interest this case has generated and after reviewing the two case dockets in existence over the murder of Rokko Frimpong it has come to the conclusion that it is more justifiable to prosecute the suspects who were initially charged by the Police for the murder. The statement further noted that there are still questions concerning the involvement of the soldiers in the redenomination exercise and the AG has advised the BNI to sustain their investigation of the five soldiers with particular reference to their role and possible involvement with regards to the redenomination exercise, which took place in July 2007. Sergeants Michael Arthur, Richard Somuah, Lamptey Hazei and Corporals Charles Ankumah and Emmanuel Antwi were first arrested by the BNI in November and later charged with the murder of Mr Frimpong.
