Dr Ofori Sarpong Tops All, Adjudged 2019 EMY’s Ultimate Man Of The Year (VIDEO)
Dr Ernest Ofori Sarpong, CEO of Special Ice Company, was on Saturday, adjudged the 2019 Ultimate Man of the Year at the 4th edition of the Exclusive Men of the Year (EMY) Awards, held at the Kempinski Hotel in Accra.
Dr Sarpong was accorded the award for his outstanding performance under the year of review.
The award recognises a man who is "veryimpactful in society; an innovator; a visible team player; a certifiable gentleman and pillar of the community".
The EMY Africa Awards is an annual Father’s Day-related event that celebrates personalities who have contributed their quota to change, progress and continue to be symbols of stability and role models in the community.
This year's event was on the theme “Positioning the new African for a paradigm shift” and it was attended by the movers and shakers of the society.
Speaking at the event, Executive Director, Kojo Soboh, said this year's theme was inspired by the significant change in the Award trophy which was primarily influenced by “The Thinker”, a sculptural masterpiece by the renowned French sculptor François-Auguste-René Rodin.
“The mould of the trophy, from the rough ruggedness and formlessness at the base to the highly polished finish and well-sculptured torso at the top reinforces the imagery of the hard and arduous journey from ineptness and obscurity to refinement, mastery and fame,"

Ernest Ofori is the CEO of Special Ice Company. He jointly controls several businesses in Ghana with his business partner and friend Osei Kwame. They both own shares in Best Point Savings & Loans Limited in Ghana.
