I'll Write The Book Again If I Get The Chance - Arthur Kennedy

The Communications Director for the Nana Addo campaign in the 2008 general elections and author of the book, Chasing the Elephant into the Bush; the Politics of Complacency, Dr Arthur Kennedy says he has no regrets for writing the book and given the opportunity, he will write the book again. The book which chronicles a number of lapses which culminated into the defeat of the NPP in the 2008 elections will be launched on Tuesday February 24. Among other things, Arthur Kennedy wrote in the book that Former President J.A Kufuor did not go to the Tain Constituency for the 2008 presidential election decider between Nana Addo and Prof. J.E.A. Mills because of security reasons; but the ex president has denied the claim. Several NPP bigwigs have slammed Dr. Kennedy, for writing the book. Some have even described him as a traitor. However speaking on the Citi Breakfast show, Dr. Kennedy said he has through his book and in his contributions as NUGS President done more than a lot of people who have held political office in this country. I have no doubt that history will vindicate me for coming out with this book. He added. The former NPP flagbearer aspirant said former President John Kufuor unlike many others in the NPP handled his book with maturity. Dr Kennedy lamented that most of his critics have not read the book. According to him, Mr. Kufuor after reading the book wrote back to him pointing out areas of the book he disagreed with; an act he described as intellectual and consistent with the spirit of the Danquah-Busia tradition. He read the book like an intellectual, he documented his disagreements, he communicated those to me and I respect him for thatIm sure that there are people who disagree who have very good reasons to disagree with the book even though I may disagree with that. If they want to take me up on substance, I understand that but the idea that the party of Danquah and Busia would condemn a book that has not been read, that is not the spirit of Danquah Busia tradition. He said. He says will be shocked if he is not invited into future campaign teams of the NPP because he brings some assets to the table.
