Some Party loyalists of the National Democratic Congress are calling for the immediate dismissal of the Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Betty Mould Iddrisu for failing to prosecute some corrupt officials under the Kufuor administration. In an editorial published in the Ghanaian Lens Newspaper on behalf of the NDC foot soldiers, Kobby Fiagbe, Editor of the paper said the Attorney General,failed per her own submission, when she made it emphatically clear that she is not about to "prosecute a single case involving Kufuor and his thieving officials, who looted, stole and plundered the nation�s wealth". According to the foot soldiers the Hon. Betty Mould Iddrisu has made the Atta Mills led administration unpopular due to her continued failure in losing simple cases in court and her unwillingness to prosecute former corrupt officials. In an interview with Citi FM, the Managing Editor of the Ghanaian Lens, Kobby Fiagbe reiterated the assertions by the foot soldiers saying that the Attorney General lied to all NDC members and Ghanaians when she said in her own submission that she had several dockets prepared to kick start the prosecution of corrupt NPP officials this year. �Now we have an Attorney General who told us last year that she had finished several dockets lying on her table and that this year she would start prosecuting those dockets vigorously�now if you say that you have dockets prepared on your table and now you are denying them now, what is the benefit for her continuous stay in office. Who is she lying to, that is the reason why they are asking that she should be sacked�. Mr. Fiagbe added that the NDC won the 2008 general election due to the severe level of corruption during the NPP administration and the Attorney General has failed both party members and Ghanaians because her motivation to prosecute those corrupt officials has been clouded by her friendship with members of the past NPP administration. �We are saying that her friendship with the NPP may have clouded her decision or motivation to put the people before court as they ought to be�it is not the fact of the friendship it is what the friendship may be motivating her to do� Kobby Fiagbe, chided Betty Mould Iddrisu for finding nothing wrong with the gross malfeasance that took place under the guise of the Ghana @ 50 celebrations. �Are you not aware of the Ghana @ celebrations and the hearings, are you not aware of the several auditor generals report that have become public in these last days. Kodwo Mpiani should be one person who should be standing trial by now� Mr. Fiagbe cautioned that the foot soldiers will not relent in their efforts to make sure that corrupt officials in the previous government are prosecuted.
