NDC Are Jokers Stand For Corruption And Thievery"

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament (MP) for Asokwa in the Ashanti Region, Maxwell Kofi Jumah, has stated that he would be very happy if the Attorney-General and Minister for Justice, Betty Mould Iddrisu, is sacked from her post. According to him, the Attorney-General was not active and knowledgeable enough to handle criminal cases pertaining to the previous NPP governments officials. I will be very happy if she is sacked, he said on Peace FM. Speaking to Tweneboah Kodua (T.K) (sitting in as host for Kwami Sefa Kayi on Kokrokoo), he said if the Attorney-General were to be in the NPP, she would not have held such a sensitive position. "If she (Betty Mould Iddrisu) were to be in the NPP, she would probably not have been made even a magistrate, not to talk of an Attorney-General," he stated. Hon. Maxwell Kofi Jumah was speaking during a panel discussion on Peace FMs Kokrokoo programme. The outspoken NPP MP bragged that in the quest by the Attorney-General to prosecute past corrupt government officials, if he (Maxwell Kofi Jumah), were to be taken to court, he would floor the Attorney-General and her team, even without a lawyer. The NDC can decide to choose an Attorney-General every month...You are all jokers," he added. Hon. Kofi Jumah opined that the NDC was not a democratic party and so could not preach sanity or fight corruption. "The NDC stands for corruption and thievery, looking at their way of governance....The practice of selective justice by the NDC is of great concern to the nation, as the NDC is refusing to condemn its own deeds but rather prefers to chase only after officials from the previous government," he stated. In recent times, some NDC elements have advised President Mills to reshuffle the Attorney-General, Betty Mould-Iddrisu, due to her alleged incompetence and replace her with a more capable person. According to them, Betty Mould-Iddrisu, since her assumption of office, has not shown any clear sign of readiness to prosecute corrupt past officials, especially NPP activists.
