Nana Addo Hounded Me Out Of Office - Betty Mould

The Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Betty Mould Iddrisu has described as blatant falsehood, claims that she is reluctant to prosecute former government officials who served under the Kufuor administration because she has a lot of friends in the NPP. She told Radio Golds sixty-minutes programme on Tuesday, March 16, that the former Attorney General and Justice Minister; Nana Akuffo Addo hounded her out of the Justice Ministry in the Kufuor regime and so such individuals could not be considered as her friends. Betty Mould-iddrissu has come under intense pressure from foot soldiers and prominent Sympathizers of the NDC such as former Supreme Court Jude Justice Kpegah to start prosecuting former NPP government officials. A stinging Editorial by Pro-NDC Ghanaian Lens Newspaper, suggested that the Attorney General was being reluctant to prosecute the NPP officials because she is close to many of them. She strongly denied that allegation citing how she was allegedly forced out of the Ministry of Justice in 2001 by former Justice Minister Nana Akufo Addo due to her prominence in the NDC. I was virtually hounded out of the Ministry of Justice by this same man who people say is my best friend. I had to leave the Ministry of Justice because I was attacked time and time again in 2000/2001 by the former Minister of JusticeI dont think Nana would deny that. I dont think that he can deny that he put extreme pressure on me to leave. He said that I was just too prominent a member of the NDC to be head of a division in the Ministry of Justice and so I had to leave. According to Mrs. Betty Mould Iddrisu, the incident was so hurting that she had to leave Ghana in order to sustain herself. What happened to me was unpardonable. The hurt that it caused me and my family; I had to leave my family, I had to leave my husband, leave my children and leave Ghana in order to sustain myself. What happened to me, I will never do to any other state Attorney or any other public servant. She said.
