Tro-Tro Driver Stole My Forms Spio-Garbrah

Dr. Ekwo Spio-Garbrah, the disqualified flag-bearer hopeful of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has blamed his inability to submit his nomination forms on an unnamed commercial bus driver, known in Ghanaian parlance as Tro-Tro Driver. The NDC last Wednesday at 5pm closed the submission of nominations at a time Spio-Garbrah had not submitted his forms because they had not been endorsed by the requisite number of delegates across the country. He was automatically disqualified from the race but his spokespersons have blamed their inability to submit the forms on a Tro-Tro driver who they alleged has run away with portions of the endorsed forms. They claim the Tro-Tro driver was given the endorsed forms from the Upper West, Upper East and Northern Regions and asked to deliver them to a particular person in Accra but the driver has since vanished into thin air. The spokespersons has however failed to mention the name of the said Tro-Tro driver or explain the circumstances under which the forms were given to him. The Publisher newspaper gathered that Spio-Garbrah had however written to the party appealing for an extension of the deadline within which period he was sure of getting the endorsed forms and submitting them. In a letter to the NDCs General Secretary, Mr. Asiedu Nketiah, a spokesperson for Dr. Spio Garbrah, Alhaji Mohammed Naziru Seidu wrote thus our appeal has become necessary as a result of a mix up in retrieving our forms from the Northern Regions mainly, Upper East, Upper West, Northern Region and the Northern party of the Volta. It is important to state that our representative who coordinated the endorsement in these areas has sent the endorsed forms through a commercial vehicle and we are finding it very difficult to trace the driver to retrieve our forms. Impliedly, the NDC flag-bearer contest has been reduced to a two horse race between former first Lady, Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings and President Atta Mills.
