The National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party, Jake Obetsebi-Lamptey says he is not stranded contrary a mail purported to have come from him. The mail, apparently the handiwork of criminals who specialise in cloning others� email accounts or hacking into them to perpetuate their nefarious activities, is claiming Jake is stranded in Madrid, Spain and need 3000 Euros to settle bills. According to the NPP chairman in a statement he issued Tuesday afternoon, the message purports to have been sent from his hotmail account. �I wish to state that I am not stranded in Madrid, Spain or anywhere in the world. Anyone claiming to be stranded and raising money in my name is a fraudster and imposter. �I urge the general public to ignore any emails sent in my name, on this subject.� The ploy has been the modus operandi of criminals who have over the past years employed it to defraud unsuspecting members of the public of largely cash.
