IMF Deal To Be "Secured By June/July" - Bryan Acheampong 'Promises'

The Minister of Food and Agriculture, Bryan Acheampong has "promised that by June/July this year the government will be able to secure a deal from the IMF"

Addressing supporters of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) at Mpraeso in the Eastern Region on Saturday after a health walk, he said when the IMF deal is sealed, it will stabilize the economy "and relieve the people of the current economic challenges"

No campaign message for NDC

According to Bryan Acheampong who doubles as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Abetifi, the stabilization of the economy will destroy the campaign message of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).

“Due to the challenges encountered by the economy in recent times, the opposition NDC think they will win power. The NDC was thinking that the election will be held at a period when the economy has been entangled with difficulties but the government will fix the challenges before that. I promise that by June/July this year the government will be able to secure a deal from the IMF to help drive the economy out of its current economic challenges and this will subsequently collapse the NDC,” he assured.
