All Unregistered SIM Cards Will Be Blocked By End of May - Communications Minister Announces

Minister of Communications has served notice to all Ghanaians who haven't registered their SIM cards with their Ghana Cards that they will no longer be able to use their SIM cards by the end of this month.

According to Hon. Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, those who haven't done their SIM card re-registration will have them blocked.

She revealed this in an interview with Kwami Sefa Kayi on the Friday edition of Peace FM's "Kokrokoo" morning show.

"By the end of this month, if you haven't registered your SIM card and haven't informed your network operator or NCA that you have a peculiar problem, you can't use your phone again. We will block that SIM card," she asserted.

She, therefore, urged all persons who haven't received their Ghana Cards and those with challenges with their SIM card registration to go to their network operator or the National Identification Authority (NIA) to get it fixed to avoid they falling victims to this action since after the deadline, no unregistered SIM card will be operational again.
