Allotey Jacobs Commends Prez Akufo-Addo for Refurbishing Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park

Bernard Allotey Jacobs has commended President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for refurbishing the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park, a monumental place to ensure the memories of Ghana's first President and the nation's pillar for independence continues to live on.

The President, in the company of some government officials and dignitaries, on Tuesday, July 4, commissioned the renovated edifice which was built in 1991 and opened to the public in 1992 under the era of the first President of the 4th Republic, the late Jerry John Rawlings.

The park which almost became an eyesore has now become a state-of-the-art monument.

Speaking on Peace FM's 'Kokrokoo' morning show, Allotey Jacobs applauded the President for doing something that, to him, the loyalists of Dr. Kwame Nkrumah have failed to do in years.

"When we look at what Nana Akufo-Addo is doing, he is building this country. He is reminding us of the past, the present and how the future should be. The future is that we should have faith in ourselves because our survival as a nation depends on us," he said.

He added; "The architectural design is extraordinary."

Allotey Jacobs called on the keepers of the park to develop a strict maintenance culture ensuring the place continually survives the test of time.
