Would You Have Withdrawn If You Won? Apologize To Your Followers! - Charles Owusu 'Punches' Alan

Charles Owusu has lambasted Alan Kyerematen over his withdrawal from the New Patriotic Party (NPP) upcoming presidential election.

Alan Kyerematen on Tuesday, withdrawn from the NPP presidential contest saying "after having carefully analysed the results of the said elections, it is absolutely clear to me from events leading to, during and after the elections, that the Special Delegates Conference was strategically and tactically skewed in favour of one particular Aspirant".

He added; "The level of intimidation of varying intensity, directly and indirectly unleashed on a significant number of Delegates at various Voting Centers across the sixteen regions, is unprecedented in the history of our Party."

He also said, "the fact that my Polling Agent in the North East region has suffered severe damage to his eye sight, arising from his bold and courageous effort to ensure compliance with the very rules and regulations for the conduct of the elections as approved by the Presidential Elections Committee, will forever remain a dark spot in the history of internal elections within the Party. This incident and various acts of violence and collusion, reported in other Voting Centers, are appalling, unconscionable, and despicable", so announced he is "honourably withdrawing from the process that will lead to the Presidential Primaries to be held on the 4th of November 2023".

But Charles Owusu, who pledged outright allegiance to Alan Kyerematen and his presidential ambition, has expressed disappointment in the latter for bowing out of the contest.

According to him, the reasons that Alan has offered as basis for his withdrawal are weak.

He asked Alan if he had won the NPP Super Delegates Congress, "would you have said somebody's eye has been damaged and so he won't contest again?"

"When somebody damages another person's eye, it is a crime; not a partisan matter," he stressed and further scolded Alan Kyerematen stating "he has abandoned his team in the middle of the sea".

The former Head of Monitoring Unit at the Forestry Commission admonished Alan to render an apology to his followers for disappointing them.

"I'm disappointed...Hon. Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen must apologize to his followers...This is the first thing he must do because he is a leader and people have suffered because of him," he submitted during Peace FM's morning show "Kokrokoo".
