'I Haven't Betrayed Alan Kyerematen' - Sylvester Tetteh Replies Critics After Switching To Bawumia's Camp

Sylvester Tetteh, an ardent supporter of Alan Kyerematen, has responded to criticisms that he has betrayed his boss following his decision to switch from Alan's camp to join Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia's camp.

The Member of Parliament of Bortianor-Ngleshie Amanfro constituency played an active role in campaigning for Alan Kyerematen to become the flagbearer of the NPP but following his boss' sudden exit from the race, he (Sylvester Tetteh) has now jumped to the side of Dr. Bawumia insisting he is the NPP's surest bet to victory in the 2024 elections.

"Moving on, among the four candidates, I think Dr. Bawumia is our surest bet. That is why I'm rallying everybody that let's support him; the party is going to elections",. he told Kwami Sefa Kayi on Peace FM's "Kokrokoo" show Wednesday morning.

But his switch from camp to camp has been met with mixed feelings with some members and supporters of the NPP complimenting him for supposedly choosing to be on the winning side and others bashing him for what, to them, is betrayal on his part.

Reacting to the backlash, Hon. Sylvester Tetteh says his decision has "nothing to do with me betraying any person or that I have changed my mind so quickly".

He explained his decision wasn't made without the notice of his team and Alan Kyerematen, thus he had thorough engagements before deciding to support Dr. Bawumia.

"I did met all my zonal coordinators in Greater Accra and I told them that this is my decision. Our campaign has come to an end, we need to move on as party people; my personal decision, let's support Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia," he stated on Kokrokoo.

He added; "If Alan is no longer contesting, we don't go for elections? We have to go for elections. I have to make a choice. I have constituents; I have a vote."
