Butterflies Are Deceptive and Only Live For 2 Weeks - Allotey 'Mocks' Alans Logo

Bernard Allotey Jacobs says Alan Kyerematen's choice of butterfly as his political symbol makes certain of his failure to become President of Ghana.

Alan Kyerematen, popularly called 'Alan Cash', on Monday, September 25, announced his decision to contest the 2024 elections as an independent candidate and revealed he has resigned from the NPP.

He intimated that he is going to lead a new movement he termed "Movement for Change".

"The brand logo for the MOVEMENT is the Monarch Butterfly, which politically symbolizes change and transformation, hope, and positivity. It also communicates strength, endurance, spirituality, and trust, which are key traits that I cherish as a Political Leader. In Akan, it is known as Afrafranto," he said in a press conference at Movenpick Hotel.

He added; "The brand motto of the MOVEMENT is “Ghana Will Rise Again,” which symbolizes hope for the future of Ghana."

To him, "the new Movement will be led and powered by the youth of Ghana".

But to Allotey Jacobs, Alan choosing a butterfly to represent his movement is a bad call.

"Don't get it twisted; there is spiritualism in politics", using a butterfly is "most unfortunate", he told Nana Yaw Kesseh on Peace FM's "Kokrokoo" show.

He explained that a butterfly naturally has a short lifespan, hence alluded to a time ago that a politician used a butterfly as his symbol, only for him to see the end of his political career.

"A butterfly lives for seven days or two weeks and dies. I love butterflies but a butterfly is always very deceptive," he stated and called on those close to Alan to offer him wise counsel.

"It is most unfortunate . . . Somebody needs to advise him," he expressed his disappointment in Alan breaking away from the NPP.
