'It Won't Be Right for me to Follow Alan - Anyaa Sowutuom MP

NPP Member of Parliament(MP) for Anyaa Sowutuom constituency, Dickson Adomako Kissi, who's a strong supporter of Alan Kyerematen, has distanced himself from the latter for severing ties with the New Patriotic Party.

Alan Kyerematen informed the nation of his decision to contest as an independent candidate in the 2024 elections.

"I am honourably resigning with immediate effect from the NPP to contest for the high office of the President of the Republic of Ghana", he said, adding he is championing a new political wave termed “Movement for Change”.

"The new Movement will be led and powered by the youth of Ghana", he stressed.

He added; "The brand logo for the MOVEMENT is the Monarch Butterfly, which politically symbolizes change and transformation, hope, and positivity. It also communicates strength, endurance, spirituality, and trust, which are key traits that I cherish as a Political Leader. In Akan, it is known as Afrafranto."

Hon. Adomako Kissi has bid his former boss goodbye as he insisted during Peace FM's "Kokrokoo" show that he remains a staunch member of the New Patriotic Party.

"As a Member of Parliament who is representing the party and I didn't go into Parliament as an independent candidate. I went on the ticket of the NPP, so by merit of the commitment for the four years, it won't be proper; it won't be right for me to follow Alan," he told host Kwami Sefa Kayi.

He however noted it saddens him that Alan Kyerematen is no longer in the party.

"It's regrettable . . . It was a very down moment for me . . . I was down because [1] the party has lost a stalwart," he said and when asked if indeed he will never support Alan again, Hon. Dickson Adomako Kissi responded; "It's impossible. For most of the possibilities, it will not be in my best interest and that's why it's a very painful thing."

He described Alan's exit as a "letdown" to his followers for which he was a part of.
