Ashanti Regional Minister, Simon Osei Mensah is confident of the NPP breaking the '8' in the 2024 election.

Speaking to the media before going to cast his vote in the ongoing Presidential primaries of the party, he said: NPP will break two records:"the first record will be for the NPP to present a Presidential candidate that'll go the first time and win one touch. The second will be the NPP being the first political party to break the 8-year cycle"

The delegates of the party are currently voting to decide which of the four presidential aspirants: Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, Francis Addai-Nimoh, Owusu Afriyie Akoto and Mahamudu Bawumia will lead the party to break the 8.
