Eugene Arhin, Pius Hadzide Win, Sammi Awuku Unopposed, Okraku Mantey Loses

The Director of Communications at the Presidency, Arhin, has been elected as the Parliamentary Candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Awutu Senya West constituency of the Central Region.

Mr. Arhin fought off competition from his contender by securing a whopping 862 of the total valid votes.

His main contender Opei Okai only managed 119 votes in the just-ended NPP orphan primaries which took place in 111 constituencies across the country.

With this victory, Mr. Arhin is set to battle with Gazelle Tetteh, the incumbent National Democratic Congress (NDC) Member of Parliament, for the area in the 2024 Parliamentary election.

The Chief Executive Officer of the National Youth Authority (NYA), Pius Enam Hadzide was elected the NPP Parliamentary Candidate for the Asuogyaman Constituency in the Eastern Region.

He polled 423 of the total valid votes while his closest contender, Paul Ansah secured. 131

Michael Ansah secured 113 votes while Nana Abrokwa Asare also managed 95 votes of the total 772 valid votes cast.

Sammi Awuku Unopposed

The Director General of the National Lottery Authority (NLA), Sammi Awuku, has been unanimously declared the as the NPP parliamentary candidate for the Akuapem North constituency.

The newly qualified lawyer stood uncontested, gaining the endorsement of delegates in the area in the primaries held earlier today (December 2, 2023).

Mr. Awuku stood uncontested as he was the only person who had filed to contest the primaries in the constituency as at the close of nomination on November 30, 2023.

Okraku Mantey Loses

Meanwhile, Deputy Minister of Tourism, Arts, and Culture, Mark Okraku Mantey, has lost his bid to be the parliamentary candidate of the NPP in the Ayensuano constituency in the Eastern Region.
