Bawumia Only Marketed His Vision, He Hasn’t Betrayed Akufo-Addo – Political Marketing Analyst

Dr. Bernard Tutu Boahen, a Political Marketing Analyst, has revealed that there is absolutely nothing wrong with the Vce Presdient propelling his won vision and campaign message.

He said, Dr Bawumia needed to adopt his own strategy for the upcoming elections and defend it accordingly as much as he can.

Speaking to the vision lecture of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer, Dr. Tutu Boahen called on Ghanaians not to be too hard on the flagbearer as he outlines his own vision for the next government he is the leader of.

The NPP Flagbearer mired himself in controversy when he asserted that the Economic Management Team (EMT) of which he heads, does not have decision-making powers but only advises cabinet.

Thankfully, I was appointed as chair of the EMT, as a sub-committee to Cabinet we do not have decision-making powers but I am very proud of the quality of advice we have been providing over the years to Cabinet.

“As vice president, I was asked by the president to assist in solving the problems that were inhibiting the economy. my approach was to help formalize the economy through digitalization as stated in our 2016 manifesto,” he said.

Critics say having contributed to the country's current economic situation, the Vice-President is now seeking to distance himself from the mess.

However, speaking on the Midday News on TV3 on Friday Febraury 9,  Dr Tutu Boahene said “At this stage that Dr Bawumia finds himself in he must also defend his campaign and put his campaign within the context that people expect him to be running his campaign.

“It is what people expect of him that will actually tell his campaign engine moving forward. And so for me, he has done the needful; people may call it a betrayal but I may not see it as a betrayal. For me, it is what works and it is going to work for him.”
