Konadu Or Mills; The Value Is The Same

The Coordinator of Nana Akufo-Addos Campaign Team for the 2012 Elections, Boakye Agyarko has stated that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) is unfazed by the overwhelming support that President Mills received over the weekend in Sunyani during the National Democratic Congress (NDC) delegates congress to elect a flagbearer. Mr. Agyarko said before the NDCs delegates congress, the NPP was focused on reaching out to Ghanaians with their message and not the power struggle within the NDC. In an interview on Joy FM on Monday, Mr Agyarko said the NPP prepared for whoever was going to emerge victorious with the belief that the value is the same. It doesnt matter whether it is Prof. Mills, it doesnt matter whether it is Mrs Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings. We expected that one of them will win and prepared adequately for whatever the outcome was. He questioned why people are using the word resounding to describe President Mills victory explaining that what is important is the size of the delegation endorsing and I beg to say that three thousand odd people giving President Mills 97 percent is good. A hundred and fifteen thousand people giving Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo 80 percent is even better. He said the fact that President Mills was challenged by someone within his own party is in itself an indictment on his performance and that his win should not be seen as a victory. He stressed that the fact that President Mills won the flagbearership slot of his party does not give him an automatic win in 2012, adding Ghanaians will judge the legacy of President Mills which has been an abysmal one and in view of that he will be rejected.
