Royal Lions Club Gets New President

Mr Paul Osei-Bobie has been inaugurated as the new President of the Kumasi Royal Lions Club, pledging to step up efforts at helping to bring hope and comfort to the visually impaired and the socially disadvantaged. He said more would be done by way of free eye screening and care, supply of water to communities and support to orphanages and rehabilitation centres. The Chairman of the Lion Zone, Mr David Owusu Anokye inducted him into office at the Georgia Hotel in Kumasi at the weekend. Mr Osei-Bobie, who would serve for a one year term, said the Club would move quickly to complete a classroom project it had started at the Garden City Special School. He said the Club had over the years been engaged in humanitarian services and this could only continue. Mr Osei-Bobie invited those sharing in the vision and goals of promoting common humanity to join hands with the Club to make the society a better place to live for all. Lions Club is one of the largest service organizations with a membership of more than 1.3 million worldwide.
