Ghana Is One Of The Most Expensive Countries To Live In - Nana Konadu

Ghana is one of the most expensive countries to live in at the moment; that is according to the former first lady Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings. By the time you leave here, you will find that Ghana is one of the most expensive countries on this continent today. Very, very expensive. We have to find a away of knocking that down, she stated. Mrs Rawlings was speaking to a group of women from 25 African countries participating in the Milead Fellowship International which seeks to empower women with skills for leadership. She says Ghanas growth is stagnant because the country does not produce enough. Mrs. Rawlings said merely having good economic indicators does not guarantee improved living standards. She said the best way to control the rising cost of living in Ghana is to produce: "If we cannot go into serious production. I think that we are going to have a lot of problems. If we are able to go into massive production of various things or in various areas, it will help reduce the number of people who are not working because I have a vision but that vision is to see that young people are employable and are employed because it is possible, she noted. Mrs Rawlings added that the declining inflation rate should not be the basis for determining how well the economy is doing, stressing I believe the economy can be run differently. Mrs Rawlings proposed that one of the ways to manage the economy efficiently is by putting young people to work. We have to put young people to work and we have to train them so that indeed they can be put to work, she said.
