Government Denies Order For John Kumah's Arrest

The Government has denied that President Mills ordered the arrest of NPP activist John Kumah on Wednesday July 27. Mr Kumah insinuated that President Mills is gay and engages in the act with Ato Ahwoi a member of government. Government however says the President ordered John Kumahs release from the CID headquarters since he the President was not interested in the case. John Kumah was picked up by the Police during a political discussion at a private radio station, HOT FM for an earlier Gay allegation he made about President Mills on another radio station Asempa FM, in reaction to a similar allegation against Nana Akomea of the NPP. John Kumah who was delighted at his release, insinuated that the President ordered his arrest. But a deputy Information Minister, Baba Jamal in an interview with Citi News said President Mills never ordered John Kumahs arrest. I want to state emphatically that the President has no hand in his arrest but of course the President ordered that he should be released because he thinks that the best judge would be the society and the people of Ghana who would be listening to those people who want to do politics of insults and arrogance. Hon. Baba Jamal also accused the NPP hierarchy for sanctioning politics of insults among its supporters. He said the NDC leadership does not encourage its supporters to engage in verbal attacks on their political opponents.
