Kwadwo Asamoah Admits He Must Improve His Ghana Performance

Ghana midfielder Kwadwo Asamoah admits he must improve on his performance for the Black Stars with tough matches coming up over the next two years. The Black Stars have set a target of winning the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations but first they must qualify for the tournament in Gabon and Equatorial Guinea. The 2014 World Cup draw pits Ghana with Zambia, Sudan and Asamoah is expected to play a key role if they are to excel. But he has come in for some criticism over his performances as the playmaker for the Black Stars. The Italy-based says he must improve his performance when playing for Ghana, blaming his ineffectiveness on the difficult terrain in Africa. People want me to do more and me I want to do more. Football is about time and about courage. Its not easy, he said. The way we play in Europe and here is quite different. When Milo (Rajevac) was here I used to play behind the striker. In Italy I play left midfield all the time. Its a little different. African football is also different with the pitches and all that. With my style of play I want to take off with the ball. In Africa it is always difficult to play that way. When I am with Ghana I want always to do my best and help Ghana. Asamoah was one of the key players for Udinese who qualified for the Champions League last season.
