Mills Is No Stranger To Property Acquisition Ken Kuranchie

The Editor of the Daily Searchlight newspaper, Ken Kuranchie, says he still stands by his publication that President Mills is building a mansion behind his private estate property on the Spintex road. Speaking on Multi TVs political talk show, Minority Caucus, in defence of his publication, Mr. Kuranchie said President Mills is no stranger to property acquisition. He described as forgery, letters released by the Presidency claiming real estate developers Regimanuel are putting up the structure for the president's security detail on a rental basis. Even though the Head of Communications at the Castle, Koku Anyidoho has pointed out that the structure under construction is not a mansion and has taken a team of journalists to the site to examine it, Mr. Kuranchie insists that his exclusion from the tour points to the fact that the President is indeed building a mansion. A member of the New Patriotic Partys Communications team, Titus Glover who was also on the show added that he has first hand information that Regimanuel Gray Estate is covering up for the President because the company is going to benefit from the STX housing project. According to him, the letters from the presidency do not carry much weight since there is no reference number on his letter head therefore we should just wash it under the carpet. He suggested that the President moves into the Flagstaff house as his official presidential residence. I want to plead with the President, we want him to be as safe as any other thing, his security is as paramount to every Ghanaian we have provided you with an edifice, to move away from that slave dungeon. Mr. Glover also took a swipe at the President describing him as someone who condones and engages in corrupt activities. President Mills is behaving more Anglican than the Queen of England, more Catholic than the Pope, [and] more pious than an angel. I have doubts about his integrity he said. Citing an instance of what constitutes the President condoning corruption, the NPPs Communications team member said even though the President has rejected Christmas hampers since coming into office in 2009, he has not made a deliberate attempt to ensure that his Ministers and other appointees do same. He just brought it out that the hampers in 2009 he asked them to take it away, in 2010 he asked them to take it to the Osu childrens home, but you see, when you are coming up with a policy, you should replicate it among all your appointees, while he was rejecting it, his Ministers were taking it including his DCEs and appointees in government offices and staff. So that alone is defeatist. "So ...today I am calling on my uncle Kwame Pianim to come and repeat what he said, even though he said he witnessed the president rejecting envelopes and asked the people to take it back, the fact the president allowed those people to take it away is an admission he said. Mr. Glover described the ruling National Democratic Congress as a party which glorifies poverty and criminalizes success. And why do I say this, when they see people who have succeeded in life, the perception they have in their minds is that they are thieves, particularly if they are NPP members, meanwhile these are people who have real taste. He also accused the NDC of failing to live up to its 2008 campaign promise of wiping out corruption indicating that he has evidence that some NDC parliamentarians have built huge structures in the Tema West Constituency.
