Farmers Receive Goats

The Bongo Anafobiisi Community Development Association (BANACOMDA) in the Bongo District has presented 125 goats to its members as part of its livestock project to promote their economic activities. Speaking to the GNA at the presentation ceremony, the Chief of Anafobiisi, Naba Anyanebah Akolgo Saabo II, said the economic importance of livestock such as goats and sheep could not be under estimated hence the move by BANACOMDA to help reduce poverty in the area. He said the association which was inaugurated in February, studied the poverty level of the people and realized that the only way their lives could improve quickly would be through the rearing of goats. The Project is receiving support from Dr Nana David Mensah, a philanthropist and owner of a Carpentry business at Bole in the Northern Region.
