Ken Ashigbey Is New MD for Graphic Communications

Mr. Ken Ashigbe, Chief Operating Officer of Multi TV has been appointed as the Managing Director of the Graphic Communication Group Limited. The MD position became vacant after Mohammed Awal resigned in November 2010. Kwasi Adjei Kersi has been acting as the MD of the company. He has since founded his own newspaper, The Finder. Ken Ashigbe before joining Multi TV worked in other media capacities, including Chief Executive for OMG. Citi News sources say the National Media Commission settled on him after several rounds of rigorous screening of other competent applicants. 14 people applied for the lucrative position at the close of application, of which about eight people were shortlisted for the job. Among the shortlisted individuals were Dr Frankie Asare-Donkoh, an associate political lecturer at the Cardiff University, Gayheart Edem Mensah, Communications Manager of Tullow Oil, and the acting MD himself, Kwasi Kersi. The rest included Yaw Boadu-Ayeboafo, former Editor of Daily Graphic and current General Manager in-Charge of Newspapers at the Graphic Group, Kenneth Ashigbey, Chief Operating Officer of Multi TV, one Odartey Mills, the founding Editor of Graphic Business newspaper, Bernard Otabil and a banker. Meanwhile, Public Relations Officer of the Graphic Communication Group, Albert Sam told Citi News in an interview that his outfit has not yet heard from the NMC on the matter and cannot make any comment on the speculation.
