Kobby Acheampong Was Eating Kenkey & Lobsters

The Daily Searchlight newspaper has been reliably informed by eyewitnesses at the scene where Mr. Kobby Acheampong was stopped driving at top speed on Saturday that he was eating kenkey and fried lobsters even as he drove at the breakneck speed of 96km/hr. When he got out of his car, he had kenkey crammed into his right hand and a bag of fried lobsters and pepper in between his seat and a male companion in the car, eyewitnesses who were close by told the Daily Searchlight newspaper. Deputy Interior Minister Kobby Acheampong was stopped by the police on the Accra-Cape Coast highway after he had overtaken three vehicles at breakneck speed. Kobby then managed to have the arresting Police Officers arrested in turn by the Inspector General of Police on Saturday, October 1, 2011. Though the police hierarchy has backed the Deputy Minister to label the area of the operation as a valley, the Daily Searchlight newspaper can authoritatively confirm that the portion of the road where the police were conducting their operations is a flat stretch of land that could not have been dangerous to motorists as described by Mr. Kobby Acheampong. Meanwhile there are indications that at the time of the incident the Deputy Ministers vehicle, with private registration had an overdue road worthy certificate. His road worthy was also dead, a highly placed source within the Central Regional Police Senior Command said. And that is probably the reason why he was so quick to take offence. An eyewitness who happened to be a driver during the time of the incident said the minister would not stop and follow the vehicles in front of him due to the level of speed at which he was driving. The minister is said to have overtaken three cars in front of him and not one as he earlier stated. This made the police stop him immediately and as predictable as he is - Mr. Kobby Acheampong parked in the middle of the road and arrogantly attacked the policeman who stopped him - Who are you to stop me? Do you know who I am? - How can you mount a road block to conduct a search at this part of the road? Let me have your number, I would call the IGP and report you to him. It has also come to light that the minister came out of the car with particles of kenkey all over his right hand with his mouth filled with some fried lobsters.
