Press Statement: You Can Leave NDC If You Don't Respect Rawlings

Volta Youth for Unity and Development condemn the chiefs of Anlo and President Mills for the absence of ex- President Jerry John Rawlings, a native of Anlo and founder of the NDC for not being invited to the Hogbetsotso festival. We consider his non participation a sacrilege and an insult of the highest order. What has this man done to deserve such wicked treatment from a party he founded and why would the chiefs of anlo not invite their son and a former president to grace the occasion? Have they also sold their conscience? We are really tired and fed up with the treatment being meted out to Ex- Rawlings by President Mills backed by Vice President Mahama, Dr Kwesi Botchway, Kwamena Ahwoi, Ato Ahwoi, Totobi Quakyi, Regional Minister Joesph Amenowode and other faceless cowards who use the government communications machinery to degenerate Mr Rawlings. How can Voltarians sit down in this party and allow Jerry John Rawlings to be subjected to abuse by Johnson Aseidu Nketia, a general secretary who is eager to protect his own selfish interests? The likes of Koku Anyidoho ,Fiifi Kwetey and Okudzeto Ablakwa, natives of the region and traitors behind wicked news stories insulting Rawlings ? We curse the likes of Baba Jamal, Raymond Archer and Alhaji Bature, cowards who hides behind newspapers to insult Mr Rawlings yet are not fit to clean Mr Rawlings shoes We take this opportunity to warn President Mills and his praise singers; Change your attitude towards Ex- President Rawlings or you can leave NDC and join any party of your choice. As far as we are concerned, what makes you think you can win elections in Ghana with traitors and secret agents such as Boakye Gyan and Obed Asamoah, men who sold the secrets of our great party to our opponents for loaves of bread, yet are today welcomed back into our party as heroes. Can these men even get 1 person to vote for the party at the next elections? We the youth in the region wish to serve notice that we cannot and will not take part in any activity in the region to mobilise support for the party unless Ex President Rawlings assumes his rightful place as founder and elder statesman. We are spending our energies worshiping Nkrumah and promoting CPP ideologies. Will Nkrumah come back from his grave and campaign for votes in 2012? President Mills and his stomach politician followers must wake up and stop fooling themselves.
