Seven out of the 10 Regional Youth Organisers of Convention People's Party (CPP) on Tuesday pledged their unflagging support for the leadership and renewed their commitment for the party. �Youth of the CPP re-affirm their unequivocal support to the Chairperson's on-going efforts to restore discipline, cohesion and confidence to the Party. �We therefore wish to distance ourselves from any statement from the National Youth Organiser, Mr Murtala Mohammed claiming that CPP Youth have threatened to leave the party in the wake of Dr Papa Kwesi Nduom's resignation. �We urge the general public to treat his comments purporting to speak on behalf of the Youth Wing and the Youth of the CPP with a pinch of salt,� the seven Youth Leaders stated in a statement signed and copied to the Ghana News Agency in Accra. The CPP Youth Organisers said: �We stand confidently behind the leadership of the Chairperson, her authority and her vision for our great Party in the same manner that the majority of the Party including the Central Committee and the Council of Elders have done. �Since her election at the September 2011 Congress, we have continued to witness a surge in requests for membership in our respective regions and constituencies in a way that we have not experienced over the last few years and we therefore share her optimism that the best is yet to come for the CPP. " The statement urged the National Youth Organiser, Mr Murtala Mohammed, to re-commit himself to the on-going renewal of the CPP as they were all trying to do or risk becoming irrelevant. �The Party has drawn a firm line under the Dr Nduom�s exit and is now re-focused on the leadership�s new agenda,� the statement stated. On the issue of "threats" by the CPP Youth Wing to leave the Party, they said the core of the Youth Wing fully understood the discord that some individuals were seeking to sow within the CPP and among the Youth. �We will not allow them to succeed. The statement by Murtala Mohammed purporting to speak on behalf of the Youth Wing can only be described as erroneous and misleading. He has not spoken on our behalf nor have we authorised him to do so. The threats he claims the Youth Wing has issued can only be described as his own personal agenda. He has not consulted us on this issue and consequently does not speak for us,� the statement noted. The statement bore the signatures of: Mr Paul Nuwordu, Volta Regional Youth Organiser; Mr Eben Agbenya, Brong Ahafo Regional Youth Organiser; Mr Leonard Ezuah, Ashanti Regional Youth Organiser and Mr Nurudeen Hisham, Upper West Regional Youth Organiser. The rest are; Mr Mudassiru Kassim, Eastern Regional Youth Organiser; Mr Chris Nkrumah, Western Regional Youth Organiser; and Mr Akumbey Mohammed, Upper East Regional Youth Organiser. The Youth Organisers who abstained from the statement were those from Greater Accra, Central and Northern Regions.
