Mrs Tina Frempong, Central Regional Women's Organizer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has urged the women's wing of the party to bury their differences to ensure a resounding victory for the party in the December elections.
She said women played a vital role in the grassroots organization of the party, adding that unity and hard work were essential to chalk success.
Mrs Frempong made the call when she addressed members of the Agona West branch of the women�s wing of NDC at Agona Swedru. She stated that internal wranglings and petty squabbles among them would do the party more harm than good.
The Regional Organizer urged the women to rally strongly behind the party, adding that the 2012 elections would not be easy but with determination and hard work the NDC would be the winner.
Mrs Frempong said the regional secretariat of the women�s wing was working around the clock to ensure that women in the Central Region got their fair share of the national cake to improve their living standards.
She appealed to the women to preach the Better Ghana Agenda being pursued by the Mills administration to their husbands and siblings who were not members of NDC to join the party.
Mrs Evelyn Adu, Agona West Constituency Women's Organizer said the aims and objectives of the wing were to ensure the empowerment of women in the areas of trading, home economics among others to promote peace in the party.
She commended the Minister of Trade and Industry, Ms Hannah Tetteh, Mr Charles Obeng-Inkoom, Parliamentary Candidate and Mr Kweku Tetteh, Agona West Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for their immense contributions to the Women�s Wing of the party in the area.
Mr Obeng-Inkoom on his part, said women were an integral part of every vibrant political party and needed to be strengthened in order to perform their ascribed responsibilities.
He assured the women that everything possible would be done to ensure that they received their micro loan facility to improve their businesses. Mr Tetteh, Municipal Chief Executive, asked the women to continue supporting the activities of the party in the Agona West Constituency to help snatch the Parliamentary seat from the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the December elections.
He called on the party supporters to spread the policies and programmes of the government to the masses for more people to join the party to ensure a victory in this year's election.
