Nduom Asked To Resign In Two Weeks Or Be Fired

The head of Research and Strategic Planning Committee of the CPP, Mr. Kwabena Benyarko, has asked the defected 2008 flagbearer of the party, Dr. Paa Kwesi Nduom, to officially resign or face being dismissed after a two-week ultimatum. After weeks of internal wrangling within the CPP, Dr. Nduom announced his departure from the party and subsequently formed a new party, the Progressive Peoples Party (PPP). Speaking on Joy Fm on Wednesday, Mr. Benyarko said the CPP has written to the former flagbearer requesting him to turn in his resignation letter, however, there has been no response. We need him to officially inform us that he has resigned from the party or else we will sack him, he said. Mr. Benyarko issued a two-week ultimatum to the former MP for the KEEA constituency to respond appropriately because the party does not want to disgrace anybody. About 200 members of the CPP including the executives in the Northern region and the KEEA constituency have crossed carpet to Dr. Nduoms new political movement, the PPP.
