Shut Up! Wulomo Tells Yaw Boateng-Gyan

The Wulomo of Accra and President of the Ga Traditional Council, Nuumo Ogbamey III, has asked the National Organiser of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr. Yaw Boateng-Djan, to shut up and apologise to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA), Dr. Alfred Oko Vanderpuije, for interfering in his work. Yaw Boateng-Djan must shut up and allow the elders of Accra to dictate what development projects must come to Accra, he added. His outburst comes at the heels of a recent publication in The Publisher newspaper, which cited the NDC organiser, calling off the bluff of the Accra Mayor and telling him to get away with his moustache when news made rounds that the AMA had carried out another demolishing exercise at Circle-Odawna Railway Line. According to the Wulomo, Accra has been denied its fair share of the national cake due largely to political influence in the work of various mayors who have sought to bring a change in the capital city. He cited Sodom and Gomorrah which needed to be demolished during the NPP era but was stopped as a result of political influence and this, he stated affected the fortunes of the NPP in the 2008 elections. In an exclusive interview with the Today newspaper, the Wulomo stated that the time was due for the out-spoken NDC national organiser to concentrate on improving the lot of the people in his region instead of poking his nose into the affairs of Accra. He should concentrate on the illegal felling of trees and the galamsey activities in his region and find better jobs for the youth, he said. The Wulomo was of the view that if Boateng-Djan would help develop his region (Brong Ahafo), the youth would not have flooded Accra to sell Dog Chains, Chewing Gum and the likes The angry high priest further warned the NDC national organiser to allow the elders of Accra to dictate what should happen in the capital adding we have the ability to do it ourselves. It has been revealed that the demolition of the area was necessitated by the illegal activities of squatters resulting in a fire outbreak that affected a high tension pole serving some industries and residence within the Accra Metropolis. Information gathered indicated that the ECG has spent over GH10 million on repair works alone to get these affected industries and residents again connected to the national grid. However, when the Accra Mayor was contacted for his comments, he declined but said, I respect the President, the President respects me and I believe he has given me a job to do. And so, I will live to perform my duties as best as I can to cause a change in Accra, hence the Accra Millennium city project. Today
