Private company to establish SHS at Bredi

Ghana Link Network Company Limited in Tema is to establish a Senior High School (SHS) at Bredi Number One in the Nkoranza South District of the Brong-Ahafo Region to enhance education in the area. Mr. Nick Danso-Adjei, President of the Company, announced this at the weekend at a durbar in organized as part of the celebration of the annual Krufie Yam festival of the area. He said a large tract of land had been released by the local traditional authorities for the project which he said, would be awarded on contract by the middle of the year. Mr Danso-Adjei, a citizen of the area, said the school was intended to serve needy but promising students in the area who could not to enroll in boarding institution far away from home. The company�s gesture, he added, would be part of its social responsibility to support national development. He advised the youth of the area to take their education seriously to benefit from the facility. Mr. Danso-Adjei disclosed that he had made contacts with some agricultural experts from Latin America to invest in vegetable cultivation in the area for the benefit of the unemployed youth. Feasibility studies into the land and soil in the area are being conducted to ascertain the type of vegetable suitable for cultivation, he added. According to him, the Company preferred the cultivation of a variety of pepper which has a high world market price. Last year, the company funded the construction of a Police station and barracks at the cost of about GHC300, 000.00 at Bredi No. 1 and a mortuary for Saint Theresa�s hospital at Nkoranza.
