NDC support in Ketu-South intact despite agitations-Ackumey

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) would be disappointed if it thought current agitations in the Ketu-South offered an opening to make inroads in the constituency. Mr. Marshal Ackumey, Ketu South Constituency Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) stated this in an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA). This followed a second demonstration on Monday by the concerned citizens of Somey Klikor for the split of Ketu South district after one held last Friday for Aflao to be designated as a Municipality. He said the constituency executives involvement in the agitations was not meant to undermine the government but to reflect the mood of the people. The demonstrators marched from Nogokpo through Agbozume to Klikor with placards some reading, Professor Mills are you not a father for Ketu South as well and new district means faster development. Mr. Ackumey said agitations in the district reflected the peoples craving for a new district to consolidate what government has so far done for them. He said the district was qualified in terms of population size to be split into two.
