The police in Suntreso in the Ashanti Region are still searching for the driver of the articulated truck which killed five people on Monday.
The truck with registration number AS5018-12 killed them at Santaase near the Opoku Ware Senior High School in Kumasi.
Reports had it that the driver lost control of the vehicle and ran over nine people when he was travelling from Cape Coast to Kumasi.
The bodies of the deceased have been deposited at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital morgue, while the injured are responding to treatment.
The commander in charge of the Suntreso MTTU, ASP Peter Adoone told Citi News that the cell phones of the driver are all off.
He said the police have been able to reach the owner of the vehicle who has consequently been tasked to produce the hit-and-run driver.
ASP Adoone assured that it will be easy to find the driver and will be brought to book since he worked for a well-known company.
