NHIS Workers Declare Nationwide Strike

The National Health Insurance Workers Union has begun a nationwide strike effective Monday for poor payments. They claim since they joined the scheme some seven years ago, the National Health Insurance Authority has not adjusted their salaries. They also claim there are discrepancies in the salary structure adding that workers of the scheme around the country are being discriminated against. General Secretary of the union Kingsly Kwabena Bobie told Citi News the nationwide strike will continue until their challenges are addressed.
