Director General of the National Lottery Authority and NPP parliamentary candidate for Akuapem North constituency, Sammi Awuku has urged the Electoral Commission to rectify their challenges with the current limited registration exercise ensuring a transparent registration process and by extension a free and fair December 7 elections.
Sammi Awuku commenting on the ongoing limited registration exercise conducted by the Electoral Commission strongly decried the technical errors that characterized the exercise and the violence in some registration centers.
There are reports of violent clashes in some registration centers across the nation with some persons brandishing machetes and guns in a life-threatening manner.
Tackling the issue on Peace FM’s “Kokrokoo” show, Sammi Awuku condemned the violence, but charged the EC not to give the political parties a cause for concern as he highlighted the significance of the registration exercise to the parties.
“I think the Electoral Commission in this high-stake election, don’t give the NPP cause to expressed concern over the conduct. Don’t give NDC cause to express concern,” he said.
