Ghana Commercial Bank (GCB)’s Legon Branch has re-opened after undergoing major renovations to bring easier, faster and more convenient banking services to customers in the university community and environs as well as the general public.

The branch, which has been in existence for over 50 years, had its walls extended to create more space for customers to enable them conduct business in a more comfortable business environment.

It was fully closed in October 2012 to expedite renovation works. New sets of equipment and furniture have been provided while a new ATM has also been installed at the Branch.

This is part of GCB’s vision to bring easier, faster and more convenient banking services to its customers.

Speaking at the reopening ceremony, the Chief Operating Officer of GCB, Kojo Addae-Mensah intimated that the renovation is in line with the bank’s policy to renovate several of its branches across the country to create more space and convenience for customers to ensure uniformity in standards throughout GCB.

He said the bank created the platform and tools to make it easy and convenient for customers to bank with GCB and urged the staff to be aggressive in promoting and selling the bank’s electronic products.

Currently, GCB has an automated loan facility, 24-hour personal loan, a facility well-appreciated by salaried workers, internet banking for both individuals and corporate, mobile banking for anyone with a cell-phone, Smartpay for bill payments and Readycash ATMs for banking 24/7.

In addition, the bank is deploying PoS devices at various locations including shops and hotels to facilitate easy access to customers’ accounts and funds.

All these have made banking with GCB so convenient and this is the focus of the Bank. “This is why GCB is now about banking with convenience at its core,” Mr. Addae-Mensah added.
