African Air Expo 2014 is scheduled to be launched tomorrow, Tuesday, 8th October 2013, at the Banquet Hall, State House in Accra.

The event which is the first of its kind in Ghana and it is being organized under the auspices of the Ministry of Transport, and in partnership with the International Centre of Excellence ICE- Aviation Division, based in Dubai, UAE, will officially introduce the vision and objectives behind the African Air Expo 2014.

Speaking in an interview on Monday’s edition of ‘Kokrokoo’, Minister of Tranpsort, Mrs Dzifa Aku Attivor said the event will be organized like a ‘Trade Fair’; where aviation companies will exhibit their wares.

“We want to sell Ghana through the aviation sector. We are going to organize an air expo in October 2014. The message will be broadcasted to all the African countries as the aviation sector is concerned… It is like a trade fair…all sorts of companies will be exhibiting equipments that they have…all the industry players will come together to show what they have…it will also be a platform to link up with suppliers” she said.

Asked how the sector will be able to sustain awareness from now to 2014, she said her ministry as well as the aviation sector will be organizing series of events as well as ‘media interaction to keep the message in the minds of the people involved’.

According to her, those events will also “help us to get the necessary sponsorship that we need.

The Launch on Tuesday will also witness the announcement of the official website for the event as well as introduce to Ghana and Africa the team involved in organizing the African Air Expo 2014.
