World leader in the dual sim mobile handset business, TECNO, has launched a new addition to its smart phone range.

The new device, the TECNO PHANTOM Z, which was launched at a ceremony held at its corporate offices at Darkuman in Accra on Tuesday, is a modern day handheld stunner.

Riding on the back of an ever-popular range of upwardly mobile, yet economically-friendly devices (launched over the last two years), TECNO look set to capture the hearts and minds of the mobile market’s 15-35’s, with the PHANTOM Z.

With an expandable memory up to 32 GB, it is also a 5.2 AMOLED Full HD portable device with Gorilla Glass, and comes with a battery standby time of some 300 hours (or 26 Hours of talk time – whichever comes first).

A perfect Dolby digital sound device, it provides an unmatched entertainment quality solidly made for the stylish consumer.

Staying true to its credo of building the best modern smart phone devices, the TECNO PHANTOM Z is social-media friendly, and also runs on the Android 4.4.2 operating system.

Other features include a Dual flash camera, front camera LED flash (allows Face detection), both of which offer an amazing HDR optimization effect, textured leather grain back cover; wave hand shutter, touch capture, voice capture, gesture shot, wifi and Bluetooth-ready, brilliant video composition, and FM Radio among other unique features today’s smart phone must have.

All these, are embedded in TECNO’s resolve to satisfy an awesome generation of mobile phone users who live the smart life, officials says.

Special Guest at Tuesday’s launch was Kweku Sakyi Addo (l)

The company is hopeful the PHANTOM Z will beat any other smart phone of its kind on the market.

Special Guest at Tuesday’s launch, the CEO of the Ghana Chamber of Telecommunications, Kweku Sakyi Addo, called on government to consider removing the 20 per cent tax on mobile phone imports, insisting it is a wise thing to do knowing how important handsets have become in the lives of people.

He added that when the tax is removed, it would create a level playing field between the registered companies, and the black market operators, who capitalize on the weakness in the system to defraud the state of so much.

Government he however added can charge the statutory Talk Tax when the ecosystem is sanitized.
