Chief Executive officer of Stratcomm Africa, Esther Cobbah has been crowned the Marketing Woman of the year 2012.

Madam Cobbah swept away the ultimate award at the just ended 24th National Marketing Performance Awards organized by the Chartered Institute of Marketing Ghana (CIMG).

The award was to honour her for her astute leadership and management role she has played in marketing her company for the year 2012.

In an interview with Citi Business News, Madam Cobbah noted that the singular factor that culminated to her winning the award was her determination to work to the glory of God.

It makes me want to do things in an excellent manner because I serve a God of excellence.

In expressing her joy, she said she was humbled to be selected by colleagues in the business community as that number one marketer saying, its a humbling situation and I just feel that I cannot take this award and just sit. I need to work harder.

The Stratcomm CEO however advised Ghanaian Marketers to capitalize on the rich cultural heritage of Ghana to build strong Marketing communications strategies.

We should not forget our culture. It is important that we root what we do in the Ghanaian Culture because we cant throw away what we have. Our culture is a strong foundation that God has given us to enable us build strong marketing communications strategies that are effective internally in Ghana and externally in the Global market.

Marketing Man of the year went to Vice Chancellor of the University of Professional Studies, Professor Joshua Alabi.

He told Citi Business News, hard work, focus and dedication were his key drivers.

Im really humbled and its rather going to inspire me to work harder.

MTN and SIC topped the list of awardees with both sweeping away two awards each.

MTNs free beyond three won the outdoor advert of the year and its Ashantifest won the Brand Activation of the year.

SIC won the life Insurance company of the year and its Final Journey advert won the radio advert of the year.
